DRAFT

Protection
It was voted in 2023 to restructure the league every 4 years coinciding with the great US of A election schedule. For the 3 years in between, you may protect 2 players. Those players will then acquire the draft spot that the player was acquired in the year before. i.e., if you draft Walter Payton in the 3rd round in the prior season and decide to protect him in the current season then he is tied to the 3rd round pick and that is the pick you will lose. There are a few stipulations to this rule listed below:

Traded players: player and pick both go together
Acquired players that we're drafted year before: player and pick go together
Players not drafted but acquired: Player will be attached to 16th pick then 15th

Player acquired after week 14: NOT eligible for protection and must be thrown back in
2 guys being protected drafted in same round: 1 player will fall back to prior round (2-9's = 9 & 8)
Draft order is lost: revert back to supplemental style protecting
Draft order will be emailed to Opi as soon as draft ends and the Commish will get the complete draft online before week 1 of the NFL season.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
Each owner chooses 2 defensive/special teams starts 1 of each every week. These defensive/special teams may be traded or released and acquired just like free agents. The scoring for the defensive/special teams category is listed in the scoring section but it is important to notice that when a kick off, punt or field goal is returned for a touchdown that both the player AND the defensive/special team gets credit for a touchdown and awarded 6 points.

INDIVIDUAL DEFENSIVE PLAYERS

Individual defensive players (IDP) are tied to the defensive team drafted. Each owner will draft 2 defensive teams and are able to use ANY defensive player from the 2 teams officially on their roster. The drop and pickups of IDP are free and the cost will be removed by the Commissioners. If a team has an IDP from a defensive team not on the roster, they will have until Sunday at 9am or the commissioners will forcefully remove them from the roster.

LINEUPS
All lineups must be turned in before game time of NFL team the player plays for no matter what day of the week game day is for that team. A player may be taken out or inserted before the game. If a player played and he wasn’t in your starting lineup, you cannot insert him afterward. If there is a player was in your starting lineup and you didn’t take the player out before game time, you’re stuck with him.  If a lineup is not turned in 3 consecutive weeks or 4 weeks total throughout the season, the owner of that team will lose his/her team and it will be sold. If a team goes 2 consecutive weeks with 2 empty starting lineup spots, you lose your 1st two picks of the next draft.

FORFEITS
If a forfeit is given to a team, the opposing team will NOT get a win from it. They still must beat the forfeiting teams score. Double losses could result.
